The company founder, Anton Otrusina, was born in Borsice, Czechoslovakia in 1913. After working for Brookfield Leather Goods Company, he opened A. W. Enterprises in 1962 and produced 2-Way Radio cases for the MOTOROLA Corporation.

His son Ed took over the corporation in 1984.  Ed began patenting attachment devices which revolutionized the industry. Today, the AWedge™ is being used in all areas where 2-Way communications is imperative.
